Congo (Brazzaville) Significant aquatic biodiversity (freshwater and marine) Until 1985, the ORSTOM center at Point-Noire concentrated on biological and physical oceanography. Although the Center has reoriented towards agriculture, it maintains a program on the socio-economic monitoring of artisanal fishing. The aquaculture research station of Djoumouna, built in 1953, has lacked means of operating since 1991 and is being privatized. 69Journal
