dc.description.abstractMost fisheries management schemes in industrialised and developing countries have not delivered sustainability, the goal usually pursued by them. This short communication takes a look at some ways in which collaborative research and the mobilisation of a wider range of societal actors, such as promoted under the ACP-EU Fisheries Research Initiative, can make a more useful contribution to fisheries management in developing countries.en
