| Abstract: | Se realizó un diagnóstico de los principales problemas ambientales de la zona marino costera
situada en la playa de Baracoa, perteneciente al Municipio Bauta, provincia La Habana,
determinándose que las principales presiones antropogénicas que han alterado la calidad del
ambiente químico-físico de los ecosistemas costeros como la laguna El Doctor, los estuarios de los
ríos Santa Ana y Baracoa, así como el litoral donde se ubican las playas Holliwood y Habana y se
relacionan con los vertimientos de residuales de las actividades domésticas, comerciales,
recreativas y docentes que han contaminado los ecosistemas con nutrientes, materia orgánica y
microorganismos entéricos que han hecho estos ecosistemas inapropiados para su empleo en las
actividades recreativas, turísticas y pesqueras de acuerdo con las normas cubanas de calidad para
estos usos. (NC 22: 1999, NC 25: 1999) Se realizaron evaluaciones de impactos sobre los
ambientes físico-químico, biológico- ecológico, sociocultural, y económico operacional,

A diagnosis was done of the main environmental problems of the coastal marine zone of Baracoa
beach, pertaining to Bauta Municipality, Havana province. It was determined the main anthropogenic
pressures that have altered the quality of the physical-chemical environment of the coastal
ecosystems like El Doctor lagoon, the estuaries of Santa Ana and Baracoa rivers, as well as the
coast where the beaches Hollywood and Habana are located. These pressures are related to the
domestic, commercial, recreational and educational activities that have polluted the ecosystems with
nutrients, organic matter and enteric microorganisms, thus making these ecosystems unsuitable for
their use for recreational and tourist activities, as well as fisheries, according to the Cuban Norms of
water quality for these uses. (NC 22: 1999, NC 25: 1999) Impact assessments on the physical, chemical, biological, ecological, socio-cultural and economic-operational environments were carried out. |
