Production of moina sp fed with chlorella spp. developed in organic waste waters from the cuban fishing industry.Abstract
Substantial increase of Cuban acuiculture and deficiency of some fertilizers used for the phytoplanktonic cultures, that finally feed the zooplanktonic species like cladocera Moina, provides the possibility of conducting the current study, referred to the culture of this species with microalga Chlorella spp. previously developed in waste waters of the fishing industry. Two experiments were conduced: 1) in 50 L of effective capacity aquariums 2) in 180 L tanks of effective capacity. Some parameters derived from the development of zooplancton were calculated and also water quality was evaluated. As a conclusion is pointed out that Chlorella spp. cultured in waste waters from the fishing industry resulted in an adequate food for cladocera Moina sp, ranging the latest in a density between 7,0 and 9,0 ind.mL -1 at six-seven days culture (80,0 mg.L -1 humid 1 weight and 5,0 mg.L -1 dry weight) and that water quality where organisms were cultured was acceptable for reproduction of population, with no alterations to environmental after its discharge.
