Abstract:	The family Melphidippidae and the genus Hornellia (Amphipoda, Gammaridea) are recorded for the first time from Cuban archipelago. The amphipod H. habanensis new species is described. Important differences among the new species and the two previously recorded ones (H. tequestae and H. atlanticus Thomas and Barnard,1986) for the Topical Western North Atlantic are given.
