| Abstract: | Este artículo tiene como objetivo caracterizar la calidad ambiental físico-química de la marea roja en el Estero Salado en junio del 2005. The increments of the urban area of the Guayaquil city, they have permited the occurrence of algal bloom or red tide, registered in june of the 2005 to the north of the channel Estero Salado near to the Ecological Reservation Mangrove of Estero Salado, to focuses of contamination (Terminal Tanker and to the Guayaquil Port) and discharges domestic of the city, located to the inner of the Guayaquil Gulf. The bio-ecological parameters demostrated that the quality of the water of this Salado Estero were contaminated by high density of fecal coliform, low diversity of the plankton (< 2 bit/ cel of the Shannon-Weaver index) and the algae bloom with Gymnodinium sp. (dinoflagellates) and Thalassiosira sp. Pseudonitzschia longissima (Diatoms); it is similarly with the old concentration of nutrients (silicate and phosphate) and the water discoloración of color dark coffee and verdict. The trophic levels were characterized for microzooplancton (rotifers and ostracode). The plankton community along urban gradients is little investigated. This result on this research inidicate the necessity of continuos monitoring, along with the advance in the management of control for the local authorities, in diminishing the focuses of contamination and others problems in the public health to the people that still fish and they take a bath aquatic intern in this ecosystem. |
