During the phytoplankton and zooplankton studies in the Morro Channel near to Posorja Navy in april/2006. The phytoplankton communities are identify 94 species (quantitative) and 81 species (qualitative), being the centric and pennate diatoms the most frequent group in both methodologies. The abundant and frequent species were Thalassiosira sp., T. nitzschiodes, Navicula sp., P. sulcata, S. costatum (0m); T. nitschioides, S. costatum, P. sulcata, M. nemuloides (bottom of the column of water); and in the qualitative analysis the most abundant species were S. costatum, T. nitzschioides, P. sulcata, Chaetoceros curvisetus. In consideration to the harmful phytoplankton, the presence of Prorocentrum maximum, Dinophysis caudata and Noctiluca scintillans species that it have provoked blooms causing red tides in the Gulf of Guayaquil (intern and external). The zooplankton was evidenced 25 groups represented by micro-crustacean (copepod, brachyura zoeas, cirripedia larvae, eufáusidos, decapods and other groups like the chaetognata. The component ichthyoplankton registered low density of larval stadiums of fish. The diversity indexes reflect security intermissions between 2 to 3 bits/cell of the plankton. |
