In many developing countries, coastal fisheries are very important and account for the greater part of fish landings. Because they employ canos, rafts and other primitive crafts. Present developments are concentrated on the small motorized vessels which cover greater arears and land more fish. The preservation of these catches on board and during distribution ashore presents great problems under tropical conditions. The simplest and most desirable solution is the chilling of these catches with ice. This paper describes the use of a new boxing system on board small fishing crafts.Pages
