| Abstract: | The many fishing activities of the south area of the Counties Sancti Spíritus and Ciego de Ávila they are enough reason to make studies of levels of toxic elements in the silts. The obtained results of the determination
of Cu, Co, Cr and Pb in silts of the estuaries and rivers Agabama, Zaza and Jatibonico of the South are discussed and compared. They are also related these elements with the percentage of volatile matter in the silts. These tributary of the south coast, nevertheless to be in the same line of coast of
about 200 Km presents remarkable differences as for their relationships with urban populations, industries and agricultural works. The technique employee for determination of the concentrations of the metallic elements
was the espectrofotometry of atomic absorption. |
