The AODC participates in various national and international oceanographic data collection, exchange and management programs and is responsible for providing non real-rime products and services tin support of ADF maritime activities. AODC capabilities include: • Data collection and analysis Developing ocean monitoring strategies, and collecting and analyzing a full range of oceanographic data. Data acquisition services. • Oceanographic data management Providing an international oceanographic data management and exchange service, including developing data structures and procedures to cover quality control, archiving, data analysis and product generation. Providing data management support for projects and to meet ADF needs. • Information systems development Developing and implementing highly specialized information systems for the management, analysis and display of marine data, to suit individual client needs. The AODC has extensive holdings of oceanographic data gathered over many years. These datasets have been sourced through a wide range of national and international contacts as part of AODC's role as the national data centre and through membership of the IODE. Datasets include both individual observations and averaged or climatological data in the form of oceanographic and meteorological atlases.Pages
