| Title: | IODE-XV IGOSS and IODE Data Management Goals to support GOOS |
| Corporate Author: | IOC for UNESCO |
| ASFA Terms: | Oceanographic data |
| Issue Date: | 1995 |
| Series: | Fifteenth Session of the IOC Committee on International Oceanographic Data and Information Exchange |
| Abstract: | The foundation for supporting much of the Global Ocean Observing System (GOOS) data management requirements are already in place in the form of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) and the World Meteorological Organization's (WMO) Integrated Global Ocean Services System (IGOSS) and the IOC's International Oceanographic Data and Information Exchange (IODE) programmes. However, to address the considerable diversity of GOOS data management needs, both IGOSS and IODE will be required to develop and expand on their existing capabilities. |
