The Institute of Marine Afairs, Trinidad and Tobago, is a
multi-disciplinary, marine and environmental-related research institution, which
commenced operations in 1978.
The inter-programme research work of the IMA focuses on the marine and coastal
environmental and covers the following fields:

- Environmental Impact Assessment
- Socio-Economic Assessment
- Pollution Monitoring
- Marine and Wetlands Ecology

The IMA publishes a range of related publications in keeping with its
activities. They include: Caribbean Marine Studies (Journal), Annual Reports,
Environmental Incident Reports, Research Reports, Technical Reports, Technical
Advisory Services (TAS) Reports and Texts.
